CHASE…CHASE…CHASE…THE INK
As the writing talent behind many of the hit songs by Ghanaian superstars such as BECCA, RICHIE and MIMI,FIANKO BOSSMAN:- the artist popularly known as CHASE, has earned the name, “THE INK”. This year, this incredibly talented songwriter reveals yet another talent – his silky smooth vocals. Chase has a sound that critics say could turn classic, help define R&B in Africa and make an indelible mark on the international scene. His sound has been influenced by the likes of MICHAEL JACKSON, LUTHER VANDROSS, PAUL SIMON, USHER, BOBBY BROWN and BOYZ2MEN to name a few. He is currently completing a MARKETING DEGREE at CENTRAL UNIVERSITY in GHANA.
Make no mistake, this British-born singer/songwriter is not a newbie in the music industry. At the age of 10, he had already started writing rap verses and performing any chance he got. No talent show went by in school without him taking part. In 2000, he joined a rap group called SOULJAS INN and was considered one of the best battle rappers Ghana. Souljas Inn’s single, “One Day” was featured in the 2009 highly acclaimed movie, “A PERFECT PICTURE”.
In high school, Chase transitioned from writing rap lyrics to writing R8B songs. However, it wasn’t until college that he started expressing himself as an R&B singer. He sang at a cousin’s birthday party in 2005 and his sultry voice left the crowd mesmerized, especially those who only knew him as a RAPPER. The positive feedback he received made him hang his gloves as a rap star, and focus on songwriting and singing.
Chase has written and collaborated with numerous Ghanaian superstars including, BECCA, currently the number one female vocalist in Ghana, D-BLACK, a 2009 Channel-O award nominee, JANE (EFYA) of “Stars of the Future 2007” fame, MIMI of “Big Brother Africa” fame, and RICHIE, founder of the number one ranking record label in Ghana, LYNX ENTERTAINMENT.
His singles “FINALLY”, “TOO LEGIT” and “GIVE ME YOUR HEART”, have enjoyed heavy rotation on radio stations throughout Ghana.
His current single, “LOVE ON THE DANCE FLOOR”, produced by heavyweight, Jayso, is poised to do the same...
