BATABAZI BIOGRAPHY
Batabazi is a music group from Uganda but currently based in Boston, MA, USA. Batabazi was started in 2007 by Jerome Black and PG later on Gera, Tasha and Tha Mayor came on board.They used to freestyle mostly, a group of guys trying to express themselves lyrically in English and Ugandan vernaculars especially Luganda. In 2009, Batabazi decided to take their music to another level and signed with BaSe Entertainment, who currently manage and promote them.
The group's musical roots are primarily hip hop but has recently ventured into R&B and World music.
Currently on Ugandan music charts and radio play are Dirty Shame with Jackie Blu3 a soulful R&B/Hip Hop tune, Buuka and Tukomyewo, both of which are hip hop tracks. They will be releasing on a 6-track EP called Set it Off at the end of 2010. An album is currently in the works for a 2011 release.
